Coraling tupperware, searching for utensils and ingredients at the back cupboards and drawers doesn’t have to be the norm in your kitchen. We’ve found the best tips to get organized and some of our favourite products to get the job done.

Organize for practicality

Stand in your kitchen and pretend you’re making a meal. Where do you naturally go to grab the pots, utensils, or knives? Create zones for things like baking, chopping, or making coffee.

Just like socks, container lids seem to disappear out of thin air. Start by tossing containers that are forever stained, cracked, or don't seal properly. Invest in a specialty organizer to make sure bottoms keep their tops.

BONUS: Invest in containers that stack neatly inside one another.

Label everything

We’re obviously fans of all-things-labeling and even though you can see through clear containers, having a label on the front will give you a quick reference.

Fridges are often one of the most forgotten areas when it comes to organizing the kitchen. Clear out your fridge of expired or forgotten items and add crisp clear bins to keep things fresh and organized. From there, label the containers with a sticker or Chalk marker.

Not-so-lazy Susan

It seems so obvious once you know this hack, but Lazy Susans will use up dead space in ways you couldn’t imagine. They’re great to keep spices or sauces together and reachable. They can also be helpful on the counter to create “stations” for things like morning coffee.

Use a cabinet organizer to double your cabinet space for things like cans or cups. They’re adjustable to accommodate your cupboards and your needs.

Add pull-out drawers to deep cabinets

To make the most of what you have and be able to access the things at the back, we like installing drawers so that you can easily pull them out to see what you have without straining your neck.

Utensil drawers can feel claustrophobic and trying to find that item can be a headache. Expandable drawer organizers and dividers let you customize the size of the compartments for all your things.

Put away big appliances

If you’ve got deep shelves or drawers that pull out, clear the counter and store appliances in deep drawers or pull-out shelves to free up counter space.

The dreaded under sink space where things end up tossed in without much thought. Give it a purpose by installing pull-out drawers to maximize space or investing in a simple caddy to keep things together.
