That (organized) Cottage Life

Most cottages have less space than our homes so making the most of the space you have will help you in the long run. Just like at home, storage can have a really positive

impact for closets, shelves, and bathrooms. Some cottages have rafter spaces too that can serve to store some of those bigger items.

Visualize

We’re not talking mental picture, we’re talking real picture. At the end of the weekend, take a picture of the inside of your fridge and/or pantry and refer back to it when you’re making the next trip down.

Keep it in the closet

If you have the luxury of having enough clothes for two spots, we recommend you keep at least the basics at the cottage, like PJs, tees and tanks, and shorts. If you don’t have an option of washing those items there, bring them back with you for next time.

Tidy before you go

It doesn't have to be a deep clean every time (in fact, who has time for that!) but we suggest taking 5 minutes per room to fold the blankets

throw the pillows into place, and put those dishes away. It may be the last thing you want to do before leaving but you’ll appreciate your past-self when you walk in the door next time.

Juggling two living spaces can take some getting used to, but like most things, a little planning can go a long way to make sure you’re spending the most time making memories.
